Michel Bastian is a white light charismatic, world-class vocalist that is as memorable as your first date. Her positive energy reaches off the stage and surrounds you like a warm comfortable blanket. Be prepared for chills and goose bumps as you listen to her sail through her notes. With her mature stage presence, she lifts up and connects with her audiences around the world. Using her voice like an instrument, Ms. Bastian takes you different places that you were never expecting. When you hear her voice, you know you are in the presence of a very unique gift.  A voice like this only comes around a few times a century. Her strength and power will hold you hostage to the end of her concert, and weeks after. She comes out startling and finishes with more than what she started with. Ms. Bastian is a Funk/Gospel/R&B/Blues/Rock/Power vocalist (emphasis on the power) and offers Grammy and Oscar performances night after night.

Ms. Bastian is the vocalist that replaced Janis Joplin. She sang with Big Brother and The Holding Company from 1987, through 1996, for nine years, and helped bring the band back to notoriety domestically and internationally. For those nine years, Ms. Bastian was the sole positioned, or fixed vocalist singing with Big Brother and the Holding Company, as opposed to now, where there is a corral with as many as nine to ten different singers rotating nightly. Bill Graham (legendary rock promoter) thought she was a "really really great singer" and called her to tell her so.

Ms. Bastian also misses her best friend and road buddy while in the band, James Gurley (guitarist of Big Brother and The Holding Company). She wishes James a wonderful transition and knows that she will see him again in the big concert in the sky. Ms. Bastian remains in touch with James' wife, as a very close friend, sister and confidante.

Ms. Bastian has played with many of the greats and hopes to include some of them on her up-coming albums. To book or contact Ms. Bastian, you may inquire within.

Note regarding bad report On-line: Ms. Bastian admits to no wrong doing since he asked her to sign a contract ten years later, and after the album was mixed. The contract included paragraphs, that had she known, would have never recorded both of the three-second background parts that have no words. Most professionals provide the contract before the recording; he failed to do this.
